 Vines

Burk Salter Wines
The Salter’s have been growing grapes in the Blanchetown area for four generations. This unique vineyard is situated in the Paisley area of Blanchetown, in the lower reaches of the Riverland, South Australia. The first vines were planted in 1933 and today the Salter legacy has been carried on by Greg and Jane Salter and sons Ryan and Nathan with further expansion of the vineyard and development of the Burk Salter wine label.

THE SALTER NAME
In 1933 Burk Salter and his father planted the first vines on a small 2 acre block on the family property. After serving in the RAAF in the Second World War, Burk returned home and married Yvonne Darling. By the mid 1950’s they had a well established vineyard of their own.

 VINE TO WINE

VINE TO WINE
The wines for Burk Salter are produced using grapes sourced exclusively from the 55 acres of mature aged vines on the Salter family property and processed into wine in the Barossa Valley. The Riverland with its abundant sunshine and semi-arid climate provides the ideal environment to produce wines of intense colour, flavour and soft velvety tannins that represent excellent value for money. This premium boutique wine has predominantly fruit driven characteristics which enhance the full flavour of the grapes yet maintaining the fine taste of aged oak and spice flavours.
